CO2 is not warming anything. It is a trace gas in the atmosphere. Total CO2 in the atmosphere is .04%. What is the man-made portion of that? It is debatable, but I will go with 4%. Doing the math, only .0016% of the atmosphere is man-made CO2.
That is simply not enough to change the temp of the atmosphere an iota.
So where did this hysteria come from? Back in the 70s it was GLOBAL COOLING that was going to kill us by 2000. Well, that did not happen. Oooops. So what changed? They had to switch gears. Someone in the movement must have noticed that a Russian probe reached the surface of Venus in 1970 and the surface temp was 887F and the atmosphere is 96% CO2. We have CO2 in our atmosphere, so ipso facto CO2 is warming Earth.
How can a trace gas warm the planet? It cannot. The atmosphere is roughly 1 billion cubic miles in volume. I know that gases are not equally distributed, but lets ignore that for a moment. If you do the math it turns out that 1 cubic mile of CO2 would have to be able to warm approx. 68,000 cubic miles of other gases. I find this highly unlikely.
I was told by a botanist that CO2 has gone from 200ppm to 400ppm and that plants are very happy as 200ppm was dangerously low. BTW, CO2 is toxic to humans at 100,000ppm.
The only thing that I can prove is that we are headed for an Ice Age in about 20-40,000 years that may last 100,000 years.
Astrophysics……Milankovich Cycles and Precession of the Earth’s Axis. We have been in a sweet spot regarding our orbit around the sun. It is pretty circular at the moment and our axis is at its steepest angle around 21 degrees. It will be moving toward 25 degrees. The Earth also wobbles around the axis and that is changing. Our orbit is going to become more elliptical, thus increasing our average distance to the sun. In addition, the sun oscillates about the center of our orbit as a result of the planets gravitational pull. Changing the average distance to Earth.
